JobSummary American SeawayFoods, a Giant Eagle warehouse in Bedford, OH, has both a groceryand perishable area. The grocery area is ambient temperature; theperishable area is kept at 36 degrees year-round. This facility isresponsible for selecting and distributing products to 157 companystore locations. Warehouse Selectors areresponsible for the safe, accurate and efficient selection ofdamage free product. You will help fill our stores' orders, meetdelivery schedules, and promote customersatisfaction. JobRequirementsExperience Required: 0 to6 monthsExperience Desired: Electric palletjack experience a plusEducation Desired: NoHigh School diploma requiredLiftingRequirement: Up to 100 poundsAge Requirement:At least 18 years of ageAvailability:Permanent employment; non-seasonalposition JobResponsibilitiesMust have the abilityto count. Accurately select product bymatching slot numbers and product descriptions using avoice-activated warehouse management system.Lift and carry cases of up to 100 lbs. from pick slots and placethem onto pallets; cases must be lifted from floor level, shoulderlevel and overhead. Meet and maintainestablished productivity standards. Constructsturdy, balanced pallet loads from various sizes and weights ofcases for damage-free shipping. Shrink-wrapand stage completed pallets of selected product in proper shippinglanes for loading. Communicate withsupervisors regarding safety, equipment, damaged goods, and anyproblems or issues that may arise. Haveflexibility in scheduling and availability to work the times,shifts, days, and overtime as necessary to meet the company'sproduction needs. Adhere to all companypolicies, procedures and safety rules, including safe operation ofequipment and helping to maintain a clean, safe workingenvironment. Appropriately follow food safetyprocedures.
